Goal Shopping For Me
A few years ago I lost my motivation to work out and I started eating more, and the pounds kept adding up I went from 130 lbs. to 162 lbs. All my clothes were getting too tight to wear, so I started wearing body-shaper undergarments to squeeze the few extra pounds I had gained. I have a small gym downstairs, and all the equipment I needed was down there. There is no excuse, but at that time, it was more fun to grab a glass of wine and binge Netflix shows.
One day, when I was getting ready for work, I sat down to put on my shoes, and I remember feeling my belly restricting me from breathing. It was at that moment that I told myself this is enough. I am tired of feeling tired all the time and tired of feeling the fat on my back and belly area. This was right after summer had ended, and I also remembered feeling less attractive in my two-piece bikini at the lake. I just could not get myself motivated; I had forgotten how to, and I wanted a boost!
“New Year resolution”. The first of the year came about, and I made up an excuse to wait until the beginning of the next week to begin my workouts. And then another week went by.
I asked myself what was going on with you. I was obsessed with working out and enjoyed staying in shape. I sat quietly for a while, thinking what I could do to get back into it. I got it! I am going to buy new workout clothes. So, I got online and saw that Nike and Dick’s Sporting Goods were having a sale. I bought brand-new running shoes, biker shorts, and workout tops, and I even bought an Apple watch from Walmart. For one, I love new clothes, and I knew that it would help me to get downstairs. What also helped me, as I waited for my products to be delivered, was an ad that popped up on Facebook on a special for Les Mills subscription. Les Mills are fitness classes that I have participated in at the gyms that I was a member of, so I am familiar with the intensity of these classes they always got me “fired up” with the music, the instructors, and the best moves. And I always felt great afterward, I felt that I could take on anything that the world brought my way. It was an offer I could not pass up, and I also took it as a sign from the Universe to get up and start moving, and it did!
Five months have gone by, and I can say that I got my groove back! I now weigh 135 lbs. and I have more energy. I have been able to maintain my diet and reasonable portions. I got my motivation back, and I wanted to share this with you. Sometimes we need to go back and think about what makes us take those first steps to get our motivation back. In this scenario, my new workout clothes, and the online Les Mills workouts (lesmills.com). Please see the workout clothes I purchased below.
